Laketran event aims to hire 20 part-time Drivers for Dial-a-Ride

Laketran is excited to announce a hiring event to fill 20 part-time bus driver positions to operate its Dial-a-Ride service for both Laketran and Geauga Transit. Drivers will primarily serve seniors and people with disabilities and provide assistance helping customers get around Lake County and to nearby Cuyahoga County medical facilities.

Interviews are guaranteed to all applicants attending the event on Wednesday, January 10 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Lakeland Community College H-Building at 7700 Clocktower Dr. Kirtland, OH 44094.

“Being a public transit driver is a great career opportunity for any phase in life. Many of our part-time drivers quickly move to full-time positions creating lifelong careers, while others enjoy it as a retirement job,” shared Laketran CEO Ben Capelle. “We are excited to bring more awareness to transit careers while seeking out individuals who are passionate about serving our community.”

A valid Ohio driver’s license is required for an interview. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is not required for hire. All applicants must pass a background check, drug-test, ODOT physical and be available for six-week training class that begins Monday, February 5.
