Route 5 detour

Starting Friday, June 7, 2024 Liberty St. from Washington St. to SR-84 is being repaved.

Traffic will only be able to go southbound along Liberty St.

Route 5 south loop will detour as follows:

  • Regular route until W. South St. and Liberty St.
  • Continue straight on W. South St. to E. South St.
  • Left on S. St. Clair St.
  • Continue on S. St. Clair St. to the Painesville Transfer Center

The following stop will be out of service: LEC DORM TOWER (ID: 377)

While traffic has resumed along Liberty St., we will continue this detour until construction is complete to stay on schedule.
