Due to the Cleveland Browns game on Thursday, November 21, portions of East 9th Street and West 3rd Street will be closed starting at 6 p.m.

Routes 10 and 11 PM will detour as follows:

From St. Clair Avenue:

• Right on East 30th Street
• Right on Superior Avenue
• Resume route on SR-2 Eastbound

Route 12 PM will detour as follows:

• Right on Lakeside Avenue
• Right on East 18th Street
• Left on St. Clair Avenue
• Right on East 30th Street
• Right on Superior Avenue
• Resume route on SR-2 Eastbound

Routes 10X, 11X, and 12X PM will detour as follows:

From West 3rd Street:

• Right on Lakeside Avenue
• Right on East 18th Street
• Left on St. Clair Avenue
• Right on East 30th Street
• Right on Superior Avenue
• Resume route on SR-2 Eastbound

The following stops are closed beginning at 6 p.m.: 

• E. 9TH ST. -GALLERIA (ID: 929)
• E. 9TH ST. & LAKESIDE AVE. (NE CORNER) (ID: 928)
• E. 9TH ST. & SR 2 (ID: 927)

All routes will return to normal operation on Friday, November 22.

Route 4 will detour the Painesville Square on Friday, November 22 for the City of Painesville’s Spirit of the Season event.

Starting at 2:00 p.m., Route 4 eastbound will take the following detour for the remainder of the day:

• Straight on Liberty St.
• Left on E. Washington St.
• Left on St. Clair St.
• Continue to normal routing

Laketran Announces 2024 Holiday Service Changes

Laketran will be closed on the following holidays. No services will operate and offices will be closed:

• Thursday, November 28 – Thanksgiving Day
• Wednesday, December 25 – Christmas Day
• Wednesday, January 1, 2025 – New Year’s Day

Park-n-Ride Holiday Service Changes

Laketran will operate reduced Park-n-Ride schedule on the following days:

• Wednesday, November 27 – Day before Thanksgiving
• Friday, November 29 – Day after Thanksgiving
• Tuesday, December 24 – Christmas Eve
• Tuesday, December 31 – New Year’s Eve

Only the below departures will operate on dates listed above. Please note the stops listed below are only time points, buses will serve all bus stops along their regular routes.

Local Routes & Dial-a-Ride Holiday Service Changes

Laketran will close early on:

• Tuesday, December 24 – Christmas Eve
• Tuesday, December 31 – New Year’s Eve

Local Routes 1- 9 will begin their last trips at 5:00 p.m. and service will end at 6:00 p.m. on both days.

The last Dial-a-Ride pick-up window will be 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on both days.

The following bus stops are currently closed for service due to road construction:

• Route 4 westbound at N. Ridge Rd & Hubbard.  Bus stop #315 is closed.  The bus is detouring construction using the Tractor Supply plaza parking lot.

Starting Friday, June 7, 2024 Liberty St. from Washington St. to SR-84 is being repaved.

Traffic will only be able to go southbound along Liberty St.

Route 5 south loop will detour as follows:

• Regular route until W. South St. and Liberty St.
• Continue straight on W. South St. to E. South St.
• Left on S. St. Clair St.
• Continue on S. St. Clair St. to the Painesville Transfer Center

The following stop will be out of service: LEC DORM TOWER (ID: 377)

While traffic has resumed along Liberty St., we will continue this detour until construction is complete to stay on schedule.
