Lake County, OH — Laketran applauds Congress on the extension of the public transit commuter tax benefit through 2011. The commuter tax benefit will remain at $230 a month for public transit and vanpool users, keeping it equal to the parking benefit. 

“While times are still challenging for many Americans, this transit benefit allows the public transit to continue to serve riders.” comments Ray Jurkowski, Laketran’s general manager. “This commuter benefit encourages many of Laketran’s Cleveland Commuters to ride public transit which helps riders save on gas, vehicle maintenance and parking costs.”

Laketran would particularly like to recognize the leadership of Senator Sherrod Brown and U.S. Representative Steve LaTourette, who voted in favor of the Act that supports the transit benefit.
