Effective Monday, November 22, Laketran will restore Local Fixed Route service on Routes 1-6 and Dial-a-Ride until 8 pm, Monday through Friday. The service restoration was made possible by a successful multi-point financial recovery plan that included pursuing new revenue streams such as Medicaid reimbursement for medical trips, grant sources for specific programs and internal financial controls.

The Laketran Board of trustees elected to make this change effective prior to the holidays so that citizens would have increased access to seasonal employment opportunities, sales and other holiday events. The announcement of this service restoration comes in time to assist students in local colleges to plan their spring schedules as well.

Dial-a-Ride passengers will be able to schedule a final pick-up at 7 pm under the extended hours.
