Laketran operating for Veterans Day service during extended holiday hours

Laketran Open Veterans DayLaketran will once again be extending service hours for the holiday season including a full day of service on Friday, November 11, 2016 for Veterans Day, a federal government holiday.  Extended Holiday Hours will operate from Monday, November 7, 2016 through Saturday, December 31, 2016.

“There are never enough opportunities for people to show their appreciation for the sacrifice our veterans do for our country. Laketran and its employees salute our veterans and thank them for their service,” said Julia Schick, director of communications for Laketran. “On November 11, we would like to continue to show our support by putting service back on the road for veterans and all our riders.”

Veterans Day is not the only day of year Laketran supports Lake County veterans.  Laketran has a longstanding partnership with Lake County Veterans Service Commission and Lake County Commissioners to provide free Dial-a-Ride transportation to Lake County veterans to the county’s outpatient VA clinic in Painesville and Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in University Circle.  More recently, Laketran and Veterans Service Commission expanded the service subsidizing free transportation to any adult day care or medical appointment for Lake County veterans, either in Lake County or to University Circle area medical offices.

Laketran also promotes this program by participating in the Lake County VetsNet program managed by Lake County Chamber of Commerce whose members provide discounts at retail and service establishments throughout Lake County to veterans, reserves and active duty service members.
