Laketran Sports Express Returns for Guardians Home Opener and Expands Weekend Service

Laketran is stepping up to the plate once again with its popular Sports Express service, offering convenient, round-trip transportation to the Cleveland Guardians Home Opener on Friday, April 3, 2026, when the Guardians take on the Chicago Cubs at 4:10 p.m. at Progressive Field.

Following the Home Opener, Laketran will continue Sports Express service to all weekend Guardians home games throughout the regular season, giving fans a stress-free way to enjoy America’s pastime without the hassle of driving, parking, or navigating downtown traffic.

Beyond baseball, hockey fans can get in on the action too, as Laketran is expanding Sports Express service to include weekend Cleveland Monsters (AHL) games, as well as select concerts and major events in downtown Cleveland—making it easier than ever for Lake County residents to access the region’s top entertainment destinations.

“Our Sports Express service continues to grow because it delivers what our riders want—easy, affordable access to the biggest games and events in Cleveland,” said Laketran CEO Ben Capelle. “Whether it’s Opening Day, a Monsters game, or a concert, we’re proud to provide a convenient and enjoyable ride for our community while removing the hassle of downtown parking.”

Sports Express buses depart from Laketran’s Mentor Park-n-Ride location approximately two hours before a game or event begins, with drop-off locations within walking distance of venues. Return trips depart 45 minutes after the conclusion of each event.

To keep the experience affordable for families, teams, and groups, Laketran offers a 20% discount for groups of three or more riders and a Buy the Bus option. Tickets must be purchased in advance online at www.laketransts.com.
