Laketran Unveils a Greener Commute with 10 New MCI Clean Diesel Commuter Coaches for Park-n-Ride to Cleveland

What: Laketran will put its 2016 fleet to a “white handkerchief test” as it unveils 10 new clean diesel MCI Commuter Coaches to serve its Park-n-Ride fleet that provides commuters with stress-free  express service to Cleveland.

This $6 million investment into the local public transit system is the largest federally funded transportation project for the agency since 1998.

Who: Congressman David Joyce, Laketran Board President Brian Falkowski, NOACA Executive Director Grace Gallucci, Lake County Commissioners Dan Troy and Kevin Malecek, along with representatives from MCI, which builds the model.

Photo/Video Op: Laketran will attach a fresh white handkerchief to the tailpipe of an idling 40 foot coach bus to demonstrate reduction of particulate matter, and near zero emissions from the latest clean diesel engine technology.
