Pay Your Fare with EZfare
EZfare is a convenient fare payment app that allows Laketran customers to purchase and pay their bus fare directly from their smartphone. With EZfare, your phone becomes your bus pass,
making it easier than ever to ride without cash or paper tickets.
What You Can Do with EZfare
EZfare gives you flexibility and control over how you pay your fare, including the ability to:
- Purchase bus passes directly in the app. Don’t see Reduced Fare ticket options – Complete Laketran’s Reduced Fare Application and your reduced fare will be applied to your EZfare account. If you already completed the application, contact us at 440-354-6100 or email laketran@laketran.com and we’ll add your eligiblity to your EZfare account.
- Store funds in your EZfare wallet to pay your fare using Tap & Ride or to purchase tickets at a later time.
- Add funds with cash with Vanilla Direct. For customers who do not have a credit or debit card, EZfare still offers an easy option. You can add cash to your EZfare account at participating retail outlets that offer Vanilla Direct. Learn more and find a location at Vanilla Direct.
Always Pay the Lowest Fare with Tap & Ride
When you use EZfare’s Tap & Ride feature, fare capping is automatically applied. This guarantees you are always paying the lowest possible fare. As you ride throughout the day or month, EZfare tracks your trips and caps your fare so you never pay more than the cost of an All-Day Pass or a 31-Day Pass. There is no need to purchase a pass upfront. Simply tap and ride with confidence.
No Phone or App? No Problem.
Customers without a smartphone or who prefer not to use an app still have convenient options. You can purchase bus passes or EZfare smartcards using cash at Laketran Transit Vending Machines located at:
- Frank J. Polivka Transit Center at Lakeland Community College
- Painesville Transfer Center
- Wickliffe Park-n-Ride
- Mentor Park-n-Ride
These vending machines make it easy to access modern fare payment options while continuing to pay with cash.
